Laura Weymouth is a lifelong writer who lives at the edge of the woods in western New York, on a small farm populated with a motley assortment of heritage livestock breeds. She writes critically acclaimed fantasy novels for teens and adults, including The Light Between Worlds, Steel & Spellfire, and the Sunday Times and UK Independent Bookshop bestseller The Castle & the Cloister.

Laura Weymouth is a Canadian living in America, and the sixth consecutive generation of her family to immigrate from one country to another. Born and raised in the Niagara region of Ontario, she now lives at the edge of the woods in western New York with her husband, three feral daughters, and a motley assortment of heritage livestock breeds.

Laura has published six fantasy novels for teen readers, The Light Between Worlds (a Junior Library Guild selection and one of the Times of London’s Best Books of 2018) A Treason of Thorns, A Rush of Wings, A Consuming Fire (a Junior Library Guild selection and Publisher’s Weekly starred review), The Voice Upstairs, and Steel & Spellfire (A Junior Library Guild selection). Her adult fantasy debut, The Castle & the Cloister, is a Sunday Times and UK Independent Bookshop bestseller, which will be followed by a sequel, The Starlight & the Flame, in 2027. While Laura has many animal pets, her pet themes include identity and belonging, women’s anger, religion and power, and the transformative nature of parenthood.
